Our Structure

GB Taekwondo is the trading name of Sport Taekwondo UK Ltd, a company incorporated in 2002 to create and implement a high-performance pathway, the ultimate goal of which is to optimise the performance of taekwondo athletes in the Olympic (and since Paralympic) Games and other major international competition.

GB Taekwondo is a company limited by guarantee, led by a Board (who are the company members) and operated by an executive team, from the National Taekwondo Centre, Ten Acres Lane, Manchester M40 2SP. GB Taekwondo has a mandate, defined (in part) by the terms of an MOU with British Taekwondo (the World Taekwondo recognised National Member Association), and funding agreements with UK Sport and Sport England. The organisation is primarily resourced by Lottery and Exchequer grant funding.

GB Taekwondo’s Board was restructured in 2010 to comprise members with an appropriate range of skills to run the business on a day-to-day basis and to deliver its strategic objectives. The Board comprises the following members:
