GB Taekwondo delivers programmes to give the nation’s best athletes, and future prospects, a fighting chance of success in combat Taekwondo. Further details of these programmes and how to get involved are set out below.

Olympic Academy Programme 
16+yrs old

The Olympic Academy Programme is a full-time residential performance programme delivered at the National Taekwondo Centre in Manchester. Athletes are selected to the programme based on their potential to achieve medal success at the World Championships and Olympic Games within the next 4-6 years. The programme is delivered in Partnership with UK Sport and provides athletes with the services, support and resources to commit to a career as a high-performance Taekwondo athlete.

Para Academy Programme
All Ages

The Paralympic Academy Programme is a full-time performance programme delivered at the National Taekwondo Centre in Manchester in partnership with UK Sport and provides coaching and other essential services and support. Athletes are selected to the programme based on their potential to achieve medal success in the World Championships and at the Paralympic Games in the K44 classification. We are on the look out for new athletes to join our Paralympic Academy. More information HERE

Development Programme
12-16 yrs old

The Development Programme is focused on identifying and preparing young athletes who demonstrate the potential to succeed on the World Class Programme.

Professional Coaches
ENROLLMENT OPEN

Want to give taekwondo a go? Find a club through our partners 'British Taekwondo' and get started today! Many of our current elite athletes were discovered from local clubs around the UK, and this is a great way to get fit and make friends.
